Hey, I’m Avery, the CEO of Modash. Nearly 3000 brands around the world use our tools to run their influencer marketing programs. We’re hiring a VP of marketing to help us scale this early traction.
We’re working to help every creator earn a living. We do that by making influencer partnerships so effective that marketers move more of their budget to creators.
Our tools help brands discover, partner with, and pay creators: from finding the right people to managing relationships, measuring campaigns and running affiliate programs.
I need someone context driven who knows what it looks like to lead a great team to the promised land. We have built a strong bastion of brand love and a world-class organic content machine. If you’re hoping for a place you can deploy an existing framework without painstakingly sifting through a ton of existing business context this is not the role for you.
In the last few years, Modash has become among the best-known influencer marketing tools. That comes from a strong foundation across SEO/AEO, various content programs, creator partnerships, virtual events, product marketing, and more.
We’ve grown to the point where that team needs a leader who sets direction, not another pair of hands. We have the team, and the budget.
We need someone who:
Modash has two products: Our influencer marketing Platform and our API. They’re at very different stages and need very different marketing. This role leads marketing for the Platform. API marketing is run separately today, and how the two fit together over time is something we’ll work out as we grow.
1. Lead Platform marketing and the team behind it.
You’ll set targets, build the plan and measure against it, deciding where we invest, what waits and what we stop. You’ll lead 10–15 people across several teams, mostly through their leads: putting the right people in the right roles, hiring where we have gaps and growing the leads we already have. Modash is still scrappy, though. When it’s needed, we all jump in and do the work ourselves.
2. Make the Modash story land.
We have many products and exceptional engineering, but people still mostly know us for search. We have the material and the people. What’s missing is picking the stories that matter and telling them in a way that spreads on its own. You’ll set the bar for editorial and creative work, and make product marketing something Product and Sales rely on all year, not just at launch.
3. Help shape where Modash goes next.
We want to grow account value and retention, not just signups. That likely means moving upmarket and cross-selling more of our products to existing customers. We haven’t worked out every part of it yet, and shaping that with me is part of the job.
Here’s a handful of examples of what might hit your plate each week.
This is a leadership role. Most weeks you won’t be editing copy or running the website project yourself, but you’ll know what good looks like and make sure the team gets there.
Your experience includes:
You don’t need to have held a VP title before. You might have been Head of Marketing, Director of Marketing or something similarly shaped in a company that managed to scale. And you don’t need decades of experience, just proof that you’ve run a marketing machine that worked.
If you’ve mostly worked at very large, established brands, this probably isn’t the right fit. The same goes if you want to focus only on brand or only on demand generation.
