Every company’s open roles refresh every morning, for every visitor, free or Plus. If you’re on Plus and have a saved search, that search also gets checked twice more the same day, so a real match can reach your inbox that same day, up to a day before it would otherwise reach the site at all. Because “Apply” there often routes you through LinkedIn or Indeed themselves, not straight to the company, and a listing can sit there for weeks after the role has already been filled or closed. Recruiters often stop seriously reviewing after the first couple hundred applicants, sometimes within days. So a posting can still show as open on a job board and be effectively dead. Hiring Tempo only ever links straight to the company’s own application page, and the badges you see (“new today,” “new”) reflect a real posted date pulled from that same source, not a guess.
Stack up what LinkedIn and Indeed say about their own process and it adds up fast. LinkedIn’s help center says new job posts can be pulled into a review queue to check them against its policies, and while that’s happening the post “won’t be visible on LinkedIn and can’t receive new applicants” at all, typically for up to a business day. Indeed runs its own quality checks on top of that, and a posting that doesn’t clear them can be hidden or removed outright. Then, on Indeed specifically, a posting still has to clear their intake pipeline: their own documentation for companies submitting jobs says the feed is only checked four times a day, every six hours. Only after all of that does either platform’s alert email even get a chance to go out, and both only send those daily or weekly, never the moment a match appears. Add a compliance review to a feed delay to a once-a-day digest and it’s easy to see how a job can sit for well over 24 hours before it ever reaches someone’s inbox.
Hiring Tempo skips all of that. There’s no review queue deciding whether to show you a job and no separate feed sitting in between: every open role comes straight from the company’s own applicant tracking system, the same live data powering their own careers page. Almost every company posts its openings through a piece of software called an applicant tracking system, or ATS. Hiring Tempo currently reads seven of them directly: Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, Workday, Workable, SmartRecruiters, and Personio. Those systems are what actually power the “jobs” page on a company’s own website, and most of them also expose that same data in a plain, public format that anything can read.
Nothing here is scraped off search results, nothing is written or guessed by AI, and nothing is cached from last week. The title, location, and department you see are exactly what the company itself posted.
Two reasons, mostly. Some companies, often the very largest ones, run a fully custom, in-house hiring system with no public feed at all, so there’s nothing for us to read no matter how much we’d like to add them. Others simply aren’t connected yet: we’d rather add a company only once we’ve confirmed it has a real, working feed with real jobs on it, than guess and end up showing stale or made-up listings. That means the list grows a little slower than a place that scrapes everything indiscriminately, and that’s on purpose.
